Computerized Accounting

  • Overview

This course introduces students to a multi-module accounting software program designed for small to medium-size businesses. Students will use the software and their knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to create and maintain accounting records, including period end procedures and the creation of financial statements for sole proprietorship. Upon the successful completion of this course, the students will have the demonstrated abilities to use multiple modules of accounting!

  • Explain the accounting cycle.
  • Distinguish between and account for current and long-term liabilities.
  • Understand how to prepare and interpret the four financial statements
  • Use Excel to perform a variety of analyses.
  • Account for receivables and bad debts.
  • Usage of different accounting software, Peachtree, QuickBooks, MYOB Etc.
